I can imagine it can be hard for english speakers as well. I grew up with British English in school, but always used American English for everything. I do catch myself writing "neighbours" from time to time and I blame the series from the 90s with the same name. I think it was Australian.

I've learned a lot from writing on Medium. The Oxford comma is a new favorite and I grew fond of the Em Dash. I have also noticed how the english language LOVES dashes in general. a
