I find it troubling that you have to think about this all the time and that your child has to worry about this when she is only 14 years old.

In Norway Universities are free so anyone may get a higher education. We also have additional financial aid for private schools where you get a personal loan from the government and parts of the loan is converted to a scholarship. This means that if you take a loan of $10.000, I think $3.000 are converted so your loan is only $7.000.

The yearly fee for some of the universities in the US is insane. I wonder if it is worth it when you will live the rest of your life with a debt heavier than a semi-truck?
